Drop your linen and stop your grinin’. Aint it Cool News had a scoop snapped from the offices of Weta it clearly shows an early poster for Avatar. The story has now been taken down but we have a larger version from the same source (Cheers MrC). Log on to our forums to discuss the poster further. Oh, the poster is also 3D and changes as you walk past it! Believe it, or not.

It seems Avatar may have more competition than any sane man could expect. Not only do Dreamworks want to release their CGI 3D epic Aliens vs Monsters on the same day (get real!), but it now seems the Terminator itself may go head to head with Josh Sully as the un-needed reboot trilogy is indeed about to enter pre production and is slated for a 2009 release.
Little is known about the James Cameron-less movie but rumours are rife that the story follows John Connor leading a group of soldiers through their “future” war. Its seen as a new start to the series and is hoped will pave the way for a further 2 movies. Arnie will not return although some still hope he may raise his large head for a brief (and overpaid) cameo.
Cameron also has bugger all to do with the new Sarah Connor Chronicles which has 2 episodes in the can, Fox is expected to make a decision soon on whether or not its good enough for TV.
Either way the legacy of the Terminator will only be growing stronger as time passes, and when 2009 arrives the metal cyborg from the future will once again get his arse well and truly kicked, this time by Cameron’s newest futuristic incarnation, an Avatar.

It seems production is hotting up over at the Lightstorm offices on Santa Monica Blvd. A massive wooden crate straight from the offices of Weta was recently delivered to Avatar’s production offices on the second floor of their LA based HQ.
Maquette’s of blue aliens? Early prop designs? 3D movie posters? Or maybe just a turd in a paper bag.
Who knows.. we just want a look at the future of cinema.

After months of no news James Cameron has finally revealed two new additions to the cast of Avatar: Stephen Lang and Michelle Rodriguez. Lang will take on the role of Quaritch a seasoned Marine Colonel, a role many thought may be going to Michael Biehn. Variety also reports Rodriguez landing the role of Marine Pilot, Trudy Chacon. A great choice, Rodriguez has bags of attitude and physcial presence in a role many will no doubt compare to that of Vasquez from Aliens, tough job tryong to live up to that one.
Also Mauro Fiore has been hired as Cameron cinematographer. Fiore is an unexpected but welcome choice, he has shot some cracking little numbers recently; Smoking Aces, The Kingdom, The Island and the  Oscar winning Training Day. 31 days of live action photography will begin in October at the Weta soundstages in New Zealand.
On the ready line!
